Royal Kothimoda Special Kukri–10 inch Blade (Gurkha Issue, Handmade in Nepal)

This Royal Kothimoda Special Kukri is a traditional British Gurkha military issue kukri knife, hand-forged by expert bladesmiths at Kukri Nepal (Khukuri Craft Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu, Nepal). Each kukri is made using high-quality 5160 high carbon steel, sourced from leaf springs of trucks or vans, and is carefully tempered and balanced for real-world performance.

We don’t sell display pieces or decorative blades.

We only offer working kukris—tools made for strength, durability, and reliability. Many cheap kukris in the market are made with poor-quality materials and are not built for use. This is not one of them.

History & Tradition:-

This is the standard-size military kukri historically carried by British Gurkha soldiers. The kukri is not just a blade—it’s a symbol of bravery, tradition, and Gurkha identity. It accompanies every Gurkha throughout their military career and is regularly inspected during parades and duties.

The signature notch (Kaudi) near the blade’s hilt serves multiple purposes: it prevents blood from running onto the handle and can also catch or deflect an enemy’s blade.

Care Instructions:-

  • Kukri is a sharp tool–use with caution and appropriate safety gear

  • Keep out of reach of children

  • After each use, clean and apply motor oil or lubricant to the blade

  • Avoid leaving fingerprints after oiling

  • For long-term storage: clean the blade, oil it heavily, wrap it in plastic without air pockets, and store outside the scabbard in a dry, room-temperature environment
