About the kukri design and History :-
This is a standard-size traditional military kukri (khukuri) knife historically carried by British Gurkha soldiers. The kukri is not just a blade, it’s a symbol of bravery, tradition, accompanies every Gurkha throughout their military career and is regularly inspected during parades and duties. This is the heavy-size military kukri issued to British Gurkha soldiers. The kukri is not just a tool-it’s a symbol of honor and warrior identity, carried throughout a Gurkha soldier’s service life. Each kukri is subject to inspection and regularly used in parade, duty, and even battle.
Specifications:-
Blade length:- 10 inches blade, made of leaf spring (5160 high grade carbon steel)
Handle length:- 4.75 inches (rat-tail tang), made from genuine buffalo horn
Blade width (belly):- 4.6 Centimeter or (46 Millimeter approx.)
Spine thickness:- 0.7 to 0.8 Centimeter or (7 to 8 Millimeter approx.)
Blade Hardness:- Edge hardened to 58–60 HRC for superior edge retention
Scabbard:- Handmade from cotton wood, covered in velvet and silver
The scabbard includes two utility tools:- karda and chakmak
Karda–small utility knife, can be use for paper cut or fruits cut.
Chakmak–sharpener, make sharp main blade after every used.
-The signature notch (Kaudi) near the blade’s hilt serves multiple purposes: it prevents blood from running onto the handle and can also catch or deflect an enemy’s blade.
